For some people the thrill of having a piece of memorabilia is standing outside the stage door in the rain for hours just to get the autograph of a star or tracking things about the film series to see where they end so you can get one of first hand.

But for most people who do not work on Hollywood back lots, or live in New York, the best way to get a collection and buy one. This creates a challenge all its own. You can not really go into Best Buy and say, "I wish the gun was used on the set of I-Robot, please." Rare items have a way of being a rare and traditional market. The auction. The good news for memorabilia collectors is that the stars have a big heart and a lot of cases.
